Dear Parents:
Where has the summer gone? It is hard to believe that we are starting a new 2013-14 school year. I am very excited to work with your child this year and helping him/her to achieve their full potential. Through the remainder of this letter, I will share some of my thoughts and classroom policies.
Parent/Teacher Relationship
I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Throughout the year I will communicate with you through notes, telephone calls, almost weekly newsletters and parent-teacher conferences. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time. You can call me at school 992-3600 x 133 or send me a note or e-mail me at LANDL1@duvalschools.org.
I am available for conferences regarding your child’s progress from 7:50 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Parent Participation
Throughout the school year there will be a variety of special classroom activities and celebrations. I encourage you to attend these functions when possible and to support them by sending needed supplies or treats. Your support of school activities makes your child feel important and sends the message that you value school.
School Attendance
Your child's regular and prompt attendance at school is crucial to his/her success. Children arrive by 8:20 a.m. Please view school as a priority, and see to it that your child attends everyday except in cases of illness or emergency.
Homework
First homework assignment will be sent on last Thursday of August by e-mail. If your e-mail address has changed please send me your new e-mail address at LANDL1@duvalschools.org. If your child is new to our class please send your e-mail address as well.
There other things related to school/class will be discussed during our Open House(TBA).
With best wishes,
Ms. Lyudmila Land
